Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Interviews by Kate Davies collects, uses and stores personal information. It is written for people in Australia and is intended to be clear rather than legalistic.
Who we are
Interviews by Kate Davies (“we”, “us”) provides interview filming and related services for founders and families, primarily in Greater Melbourne. Contact: hello@interviewsbykate.au.
What we collect
- Name, email address and optional phone number when you enquire or book a time.
- Email address and optional name if you join the launch / “first to know” list on the coming soon page.
- The message or note you send, including what you would like filmed.
- Booking details such as preferred date and time.
- Basic website analytics (pages viewed and approximate visit counts). We do not sell advertising profiles.
- If we film for you: video, audio and related project files, plus any brief or background you provide.
How we use it
- To reply to enquiries and confirm bookings.
- To tell launch-list subscribers when the website opens, and related updates you asked for.
- To deliver the interview and related services you ask for.
- To improve the website and keep the service secure.
- To send confirmation or follow-up emails about your enquiry or booking.
We do not sell your personal information.
Film and private family work
Most family interviews are private. We only publish or share finished films with your agreement, or as needed to deliver the service you booked (for example sending a private download link). Founder or business work may be used more publicly when that is part of the brief.
Who we share with
We may use trusted providers to host the website, send email, store files or process bookings. They only get what they need to do that job. We may also share information if the law requires it.
Storage and security
Information is stored on secured systems and hosting we control or contract. No method of storage is perfect; we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.
How long we keep it
Enquiry and booking records are kept while useful for the relationship and for a reasonable period afterwards for follow-up and records. Project film files are kept according to the agreement for that job, then archived or deleted when no longer needed.
Your choices
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where that is practical and lawful. To leave the launch list, email hello@interviewsbykate.au and ask to unsubscribe.
Children
If an interview involves a child, we expect a parent or guardian to make the enquiry and approve the filming. Contact us if you have questions before booking.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top will change when we do.
